 Evie Update   8/2008

Things have been quiet for Evie this year. Pretty much being allowed to grow up and learn how to be a proper Percheron two year old- Evie has had a lot going on. She's learned to have good manners as a young mare out with other horses, she's made plenty of friends on the farm and has GROWN ! She's now 17.2 and one half inch tall, has an actual chest now, and a bigger rump too. Finally my filly who was looking way to much like a young Warmblood is becoming a honest to gosh Percheron. This past winter Evie began fussing with her stifles. Acting like they were hurting her.... Well after a lot of money for tests, and different thoughts/ ideas we figured it must be that she grew so fast, and some bones / muscles/ tendons had not kept up, that she developed " growing pains", like some fast growing 'children have.  Thank goodness it wasn't something worse !

Evie is now in harness, if you can call it that. She has had one on and is fine with it wiggling all over her as she trots. She was introduced to a Crupper and when she dipped her head down at a trot, she 'goosed' herself. So much for testing out that kind of thing !

Below is a photo of Eve in her "big girl" harness... she has a LOT of growing to do before it fits her perfectly !!

I have created a wonderful montage of Evie, if you'd care to see it.... please copy and paste :

I hope it works and please leave a comment - I'll be sure to let Evie know how much she's liked !
