'Lynn & BoJangles'

Shining Eye Lynda is my longtime horse friend.She's 20 yrs old now and I've had her in my life for 18 of those years. 'Lynn', as she's known around the barn, is 17.2 hands tall and at last 'weigh-in' she was a little over 2000 lbs. That's over One Ton.  Lynn is almost pure white now, but she began life as a shiny black filly, turning lighter as the years have passed.

She excels at driven dressage and loves competing in Obstacle/Cones classes at shows. She has her share of blue ribbons from Draft Horse shows in the Maryland/ Pennsylvania areas as well in the past. In 2006, Lynn & Kris won a world championship at the World Percheron Congress. Glenn, my husband, calls her our " K Mart Greeter" because hers is the first stall one comes to when entering the barn. She is the only Percheron who never breaks her stall guards by 'sitting' on them therefore, has her stall door always open. She loves visiting with humans and thinks carrots & apples are the Best treats a gal can have !

****************************************************************************

BoJangles, along with Lynn, form our 'gray team'. The two of them have become best friends in the pasture and when driving. They compliment each other when hitched, although Lynn is more than willing to let BoJangles do all the work if he'd like...

BoJangles is the same size as Lynn is, at 17.2 hands tall and weighs right around one ton as well. He, too,is a gray, and being 17 years old, has very little of his dappled gray coat left. BoJangles used to be a big-time show horse in a 6 horse hitch before he came to live here. His job was to work where the middle two horses are in a 6 horse hitch. That's called a "Swing Team''. He had to keep up perfectly with the rest of the horses as well as with his teammate. BoJangles has been in many, many parades, shows and demonstrations in his earlier days. Now,he helps me with teaching adult riders to become better at their chosen skill.

So, if you should see us with our grays, it will be

Lynn & BoJangles at work !
