The essential joy of being with horses
is that it brings us in contact
with the rare elements of
grace, beauty, spirit, and fire.
Above all things a horse does in life,
is that she should, at least
one time in her life,
be loved by a young girl

'Scarlet Ranger' , or Scarlet as she's known around the barn arrived here in 2009. I bought her as a riding mare for me....I'd been thinking of getting back into doing some short trail rides and she fit perfectly. Scarlet is 15.1 hands tall, is 10 years old, and known as a Leopard patterned Appaloosa. She has red polka-dots ALL over her body.

As time passed, I learned that someone in her past had trained her VERY WELL. She knows collection, will jog, lope and move out for an english rider as well. She's registered and as far as I know, has never been a mama. Scarlet fit in here so easily it was like she'd come "home". No fusses, she loves Alli, our other App mare, and does fine with anyone she is turned out with. She has some problems to be worked out, but I'm sure in not time, Scarlet will be as good at riding as the Percherons are at driving !

Here are some more recent photos of her :
